Last Suppers
Leonardo’s Last Supper maybe the most famous religious painting in the history of art, but the subject itself was a popular one treated by many artists. Viewers who would like to see other artists’ conceptions can log in at www.wga.hu and look up the artists below using the site’s artists index. Some these artists painted their Last Suppers before Leonardo created his masterpiece in 1498, others afterwards. The treatment of the figures of Jesus and St. John will be of special interest.
